Hospital for Special Care has re-envisioned our annual Manes & Motions Therapeutic Riding Center fundraiser! Our event for 2020 will take you to a Night at the Derby. While we may not be able to celebrate in person this year, we can still bring you the experience of a mint julep in hand and the thrill of the Churchill Down's homestretch - virtually!
Our emcee for the evening, Renee DiNino, Director of Community Affairs & On Air Community Programming for iHeartMedia Hartford and iHeartMedia New Haven, along with HFSC's President Lynn Ricci and Manes & Motions staff, volunteers and program participants, will lead attendees through a memorable evening of powerful stories and messages that showcase how our equine assisted activities build self-confidence, promote self-awareness, help develop life skills and enhance compassion through the horse and human bond.
If you have attended the Manes & Motions fundraiser in the past, or are new to our community, you can help support our mission of strengthening the horse and human bond to aide in growth, recovery and rehabilitation. A horse can be a powerful motivator in reviewing or reinforcing many behavioral, physical, mental, social and emotional goals. How to Watch "A Virtual Night at the Derby" Livestream Fundraiser on Saturday, October 3 at 7:00pm
Make sure you have a reminder set for 6:55pm on Saturday so that you will have your mint julep ready and a comfy spot on the couch to watch the show! The auction will close immediately following the broadcast and you won't want to miss out on the fun and action!
To make the virtual event as accessible as possible for everyone, attendees will be able to watch three different ways:
1. On Hospital for Special Care's Facebook homepage, which will stream live with Facebook Premier.
If you're a Facebook user, this will allow you to engage with our community through commenting, sharing and liking throughout the virtual event! All you have to do is go to our Facebook page, and the livestream will start at 7:00pm.
2. Through a unique link that we will email out a few days before which will stream on Vimeo.
3. Directly on this GiveSmart A Virtual Night at the Derby fundraising homepage - the pre-show will begin to air just like on our Facebook homepage at 7:00pm. This will allow you to continue to bid and watch the program at the same time on the same device!

Attendees will also get to have some fun and place their bets - not on the ponies, but on our incredible virtual silent auction!
